For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...
Mark 10:45
There is no such thing as a passive Christian.
Just as Jesus said that He didn't come to be served, but to serve, so we too find fulfilment when we are serving in the Kingdom of God.
Service within the church is different for each person.
The apostle Paul taught us that just as our bodies are made up of many parts, so too the body of Christ is made of many parts (1 Corinthians 12:12)
Finding the right place for you to serve can sometimes be a challenge, therefore we encourage you to seek God and ask the Holy Spirit to direct you to where He wants you to serve.
Once you have done this, feel free to scroll down and find out more information on the various areas where you can serve, and drop us an email.

Volunteer FAQ
How do I volunteer for Foodbank?
Lighthouse Food Carers is our foodbank program.
Each week we have many people, including families, who are in need of a food parcel just to help them get by each week.
Every Friday morning we collect from our supplier, Foodbank Victoria, and on Saturday mornings we give out food parcels.
If this is an area you think you might be interested in, please contact our Foodbank Coordinator.

How do I volunteer for Kids Ministry?
Volunteering with kids is a very rewarding ministry to be involved in.
Not only do you get to spend time with God's little ones, but you have the honour of teaching them God's Word and watching them grow in their knowledge and faith in God.
However, joining the Kids Ministry team is not as simple as filling out a form and dropping it into the church office.
Under current government legislation, anyone who seeks to work with children in any capacity need to fulfil certain requirements.
For more information, please contact our Kids Ministry Coordinator.

How do I volunteer for Worship?
We are made for worship.
We are created to worship our Creator and in doing so not only is His name glorified, but we are fulfilled as we connect with God through worship.
We are always looking for gifted people who can either play an instrument or sing, or both.
If God has gifted you in this way and you would like to be part of the worship team, please contact our Worship Coordinator.

How do I volunteer for Youth Ministry?
Very similar to working with children in Kids Ministry, working with youth can also be very rewarding. But like everything else, it comes with its challenges.
Just as there are requirements that need to be met when working with children, there are very similar requirements for working with youth.

How do I volunteer as a Steward?
The stewards are often the silent workers in a church.
They are the ones who make sure the seats are straight, the Communion is prepared and the offering is collected.
Stewards are also there to assist in anyway throughout the services, including assisting with baptisms, helping on the prayer line and monitoring the carpark and any other areas of possible hazard.
If you would like to know more about serving as a steward,
please contact our Senior Deacon
