FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why are we doing this now?

Because the church has reached a point where our current facilities limit future ministry and growth. This Room To Grow campaign allows us to prepare for what God is doing among us.

The masterplan is not expansion for its own sake, but stewardship of growth already occurring —and will still be coming— across generations and nations at Lighthouse.

  1. Sustained growth across ministries.

  2. Increasing demand for children and youth environments.

  3. Need for safe, welcoming, and connection-oriented spaces.

  4. Opportunity to strengthen discipleship and community formation.

We believe this is a season to prepare the house for growth.

How much is it going to cost all up to complete all the stages?

The total cost to complete all stages of the Masterplan is estimated to be between $2.4 million and $3 million. The project will be delivered in stages, allowing for a structured rollout and flexibility as each stage progresses. This range accounts for variations in scope, materials, and any unforeseen factors that may arise throughout the project.

Why are we raising money – don't we have cash in the bank?

While we do have funds in the bank, they are not sufficient to cover a project of this scale. To ensure the project can be completed successfully, we will need to raise additional funds.

Will the church take out a loan?

Our preference is to avoid taking out a loan if possible, but we remain open to using a loan facility if needed, provided it represents wise and responsible financial management.

Our goal for the next 3 years is to raise $950,000 to complete Stage 1, with a combination of congregation giving of $450,000, church contribution of $200,000 and a loan facility of $300,000.

How are we going to raise the money?

Every gift plays a role in reaching our campaign goal. Some households will make larger gifts, while many others will participate through faithful weekly giving. The giving ladder below shows how gifts of different sizes will work together to help us reach our goal.

Can I give over time?

Yes. Most people participate through a pledge over the 3 years, which makes giving more manageable.

What if I can only give a small amount?

Every gift matters. Campaigns succeed through many people participating, not just a few large gifts.

Who will see what I pledge and give?

All giving at Lighthouse Family Christian Church is confidential. As with regular church giving, only the finance team, Lead Pastor, and bookkeepers will have access to this information.

Are you asking me to give even if I might not be here to see it completed?

Yes. This campaign is not a gift to ourselves, but an act of generosity toward those who will come after us. Just as others once gave to create a home where we could belong, we now have the opportunity to do the same for others.

How long will it take for the whole project to be completed?

The project will be delivered in three stages, as follows:

  • Stage 1 (1–3 years): Internal amenities including the foyer, café, kitchen, and toilets.

  • Stage 2 (3–5 years): Next Gen spaces including the youth hall and kids space.

  • Stage 3 (TBC): External works including the facade, deck, and landscaping.
